Description
Chum salmon caviar is a distinctive delicacy from the North Pacific. Our chum salmon roe is sourced primarily from the pristine waters of Alaska and is valued for its high quality and distinctive characteristics. It is considered one of the finest varieties of salmon caviar, with large, glossy eggs measuring approximately 5–7 mm in diameter.
The eggs are considerably larger than those of many other salmon species, giving chum salmon caviar its characteristic texture and appearance. Their colour ranges from bright orange to light red, making the caviar an attractive addition to any table.
The flavour is rich and creamy, with subtle marine notes and a delicate saltiness. Chum salmon caviar has a tender yet firm texture, with eggs that gently burst in the mouth.
Serving Suggestions and Occasions
Chum salmon caviar is ideal for special occasions such as weddings, birthdays and New Year celebrations. Serve it with blinis and sour cream, on toasted white bread, or as an accompaniment to poached eggs and fish dishes. It is also suitable as an elegant gourmet gift.
Serving Size and Beverage Pairings
For a caviar tasting, we recommend approximately 30–50 g per person. Chum salmon caviar pairs well with dry, unflavoured beverages. Classic choices include Brut or Extra Brut Champagne, as well as dry white wines such as Chablis or Sauvignon Blanc.
Due to the natural origin of the product, slight variations in the colour and size of the eggs may occur.
